'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi is returning to the big screen in the role of a police officer in DSP, which will open in cinemas worldwide in a grand manner on December 2. Billed to be a mass commercial entertainer catering to audiences of all ages, the upcoming film has been directed by Ponram of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajinimurugan fame and features music by chart-buster composer D. Imman. With promotions already underway, the much-awaited DSP trailer has been released on Friday, November 25, and shows Vijay Sethupathi showcasing his swag by donning the khakhi once again after playing a cop in films like Sethupathi (2016) and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018).

The DSP trailer starts off with a mass introduction of Vijay Sethupathi as an honest and duty-bound police officer named Vasco da Gama going after the bad guys, who are creating a disturbance to the peace of society. Although the one line of the story that has been showcased in the trailer may seem familiar, director Ponram has shown his capability over the years in weaving a narrative that will hold the interest of audiences in theatres. The DSP trailer also gives a glimpse of Vijay Sethupathi wooing Former Miss India World Anukreethy Vas, who is making her acting debut, as his love interest, while other prominent names like Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 fame Shivani Narayanan, Prabhakar, Pugazh, Ilavarasu, Gnanasammandhan, Deepa, and Singampuli too make appearances in supporting roles.

Vijay Sethupathi will look forward to a strong response to DSP when it arrives in theatres in the next few days and also be hoping to end 2022 on a big note after being seen in films like Kadaisi Vivasayi, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Vikram, and Maamanithan in Tamil, including 19(1)(a) in Malayalam. The biggest USP of the film is undoubtedly Vijay Sethupathi playing a police officer after his previous two roles as a cop in Sethupathi and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam garnered him a huge fan following.
