It's official - acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith and actor Arya are reuniting for Sarpatta Parambarai 2. The massive announcement has been made on Monday, March 6, along with a special poster announcing the sequel, which will be a joint production venture of Arya's The Show People, Ranjith's Neelam Productions and Hindi producer Jatin Sethi's Naad Sstudios banners. Announcing the upcoming project, Neelam Productions tweeted, "Hear the sound of the bell? That's the mark for round 2️⃣ 🔥 Brace yourself for #Sarpatta2 🥊❤️🔥".

The Sarpatta 2 announcement has come after Sarpatta Parambarai premiered directly on Amazon Prime Video in 2021 and went on to receive a phenomenal response from fans. Post the OTT release, many fans had expressed their wish to watch the film in theatres, who will now get a chance to witness the magic with the upcoming film on the big screen. The Sarpatta 2 announcement poster also gives us a glimpse of Arya and we can expect a better look of his character Kabilan in the days ahead.
At this point, based on the Sarpatta 2 poster, we can expect the film to be a continuation of Sarpatta Parambarai, and it remains to be seen whether the sequel will pick up from where the original had left off.
