'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer is progressing at a steady pace and the film is gearing up for a massive release this year. Being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner and featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, the upcoming film is billed to be a mass action entertainer and includes a stellar ensemble cast among whom is also iconic Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, who will be appearing in a key role. With filming on Jailer still ongoing, director Nelson on Tuesday, March 7, took to social media to reveal a big special gift he received from Jackie Shroff.

Nelson posted a picture of a brand new scooter he received from Jackie Shroff as a surprise from the Jailer sets, with the filmmaker seen seated on the vehicle and enjoying the moment. Expressing his gratitude to the Hindi actor, the hit director wrote on his Instagram Story, "Thank u so much for this cute surprise and all the love sir". Jackie Shroff was announced to be a part of Rajinikanth's Jailer in February and he will be seen sharing screen space with Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, Malayalam icon Mohanlal, Telugu star Sunil of Pushpa fame, actress Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Taramani and Rocky actor Vasanth Ravi and Maryan antagonist Vinayakan. Nelson will be looking to come out firing on all cylinders with Jailer after his Beast with 'Thalapathy' Vijay received mixed reviews despite turning out to be a phenomenal box office success. Likewise, Rajinikanth too will aim for the bullseye with the film after his Annaatthe didn't hit the high note even though it was a commercial hit. The actor's character is named Muthuvel Pandian in the film after Sun Pictures released a special glimpse introducing him to the audiences. The film is also the second time Jackie Shroff is collaborating with Rajinikanth after he voiced the Raja Mahendran character in 2014's Kochadaiyaan and is his seventh Tamil venture. Jailer also marks the fourth occasion Rajinikanth and the blockbuster production house are collaborating after films like Enthiran, Petta, and Annaatthe.
