Judging by Bagheera's trailer which came out many months back, it looks like a different take on the 2004 STR starrer Manmadhan as both films are about a psycho killer who murders women. In this film's case, however, Prabhu Deva’s character slaughters women claiming he is avenging the men who are in tears after being betrayed by the women they love.

We see Prabhudeva don different avatars in the trailer for each of the different girls that he is with. This hints that he might be using these get-ups to lure them in before he kills them. With this, Prabhu Deva seems to have pushed himself out of his comfort zone to give us a whacky thriller, filled with usual over-the-top dance numbers, glamour, and a pinch of dark humor.
