Actor Ajith Kumar's upcoming mass action thriller, Valimai, announced as a grand Pongal release in January 2022 is currently in the post-production stages, with the excitement for the film scaling unprecedented new heights with each passing day. The venture has generated massive debate among fans ever since it was announced in 2019 as it will feature several intense action-packed and high-octane stunt sequences among which a few were teased in the Valimai glimpse that was released officially sometime back. One of the chief architects of the stunts in Valimai is fight choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan, who sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta and shared his insights on the action scenes and his experiences with Ajith, director H. Vinoth, cinematographer Nirav Shah and the various artistes.

During the interview, Dhilip Subbarayan was queried about nitro boosters being used for some of the action sequences featuring Ajith riding his superbike as was teased in the Valimai glimpse. Dhilip, who has worked with Ajith in films like Mankatha, Viswasam and Nerkonda Paarvai, said, "Everything in the film has a logic to it. As far as Vinoth sir, he never goes the dramatic route and there will be a lot of research involved in all that he does. He will clearly explain the nuances involved in each and every single action, including the consequences of it. We can do whatever we want to when it comes to fantasy or from a cinematic standpoint. However, from a logical viewpoint, there will be an incident and the corresponding sequence will also take place, which will give a fruition to the overall scene."

Dhilip Subbarayan further goes on to reassure that Valimai will appeal to audiences across all areas, including the 'B' and 'C' centers as the story is relatable to everyone. Directed by H. Vinoth under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios and featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Valimai also includes popular Telugu actor Kartikeya as the antagonist, with Huma S. Qureshi as the female lead, followed by Bani, Sumithra, Achyunth Kumar, Yogi Babu, Raj Ayyappa, Cooku with Comali fame Pugazh among others in pivotal roles.
