Tamil Cinema stars are considered to be more than just humans and are even revered like demi-gods! Fans go to extreme lengths to celebrate their favourite stars. Two of the biggest stars in contemporary Kollywood are Superstar Rajinikanth and Thalapathy Vijay! For long, Vijay's fans have been claiming their idol to be the next Superstar while Rajni's fans state that there cannot be anybody else to claim that throne! Now, Kollywood's controversial producer and actor K Rajan, has expressed his opinion on this issue!

Producer Rajan says, "Rajinikanth is a very good friend of mine. Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar was a former President of our Producer's Council and again, a good friend of mine. However, I have met Vijay only about 3 times in these past 3 years. He doesn't interact with people much but is a disciplined and silent man. Despite me being more close with Rajni than Vijay, I would have to state honestly that Rajinikanth's market has gone down and Vijay's has gone up, significantly. I can state this with numbers. The Chengalpet distribution rights for Bigil went for Rs. 18.5 Crores while for Darbar, it was just Rs. 13 Crores. You can decide for yourselves, based on these numbers itself!"

Explaining further, Rajan says, "Collections are higher for Vijay's movies as more youngsters watch his movies. Rajinikanth is playing younger age roles but the fact is that he has aged. MGR maintained a very polished public image at all times of his career but Rajni is somebody who is very natural and reveals his real image to the public, at all times, off screen. The fact is that, Rajni's fans who used to watch his movies atleast 4 times in the past, have also aged themselves and watch his movies just once, nowadays! This is similar to how at a point of time Sivaji's popularity began going down with his old age and Rajni's popularity began growing!" However, we are not sure how the fans of both these stars would take these points!
