The audio of Snehitudu, Telugu dubbed version of Shankar's Tamil film Nanban, was launched in style at Shilpa Kala Vedika, Hyderabad in the presence of Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Resul Pookutty, Raju Hirani, Tamil actor Vijay, Srikanth, Ram Charan Teja, Sharman Joshi, Ileana, Sathyaraj, S.J. Suryah, Harris Jayaraj and others.
Ram Charan Teja released the first audio CD and handed it over to Bollywood producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra. VIdhu produced the Hindi movie 3 Idiots, which has been remade as Nanban
Speaking at the function, director Shankar narrated how he decided to do a remake for the first time. He said that it was during the shooting of Robot, that he, by chance, watched 3 Idiots along with the unit.
Robot’s filming had been cancelled due to some reasons in Pune. He was worried about the possible delay in Robot’s release and that is when he suddenly made his mind to watch 3 Idiots. This is when he came to know that how wonderful 3 Idiots was and he instantly decided to remake it.
At the launch Vijay spoke in Telugu. He said that he loved the Telugu audience and Telugu movies.
Snehithuda is produced by Gemini Film Circuit and Dil Raju acquired the theatrical rights of the film in Andhra Pradesh.
