The dusky diva Priyamani is well known across all South Indian language industries and has made a mark in movies across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and even Hindi. She burst onto the spotlight after winning the National Award for her outstanding performance in the 2007 movie Paruthiveeran, which was the debut venture for Karthi. She has since won a number of awards and has been consistently performing in movies as well as being a part of many small screen shows as a judge and an anchor. She got married to Mustafa Raj in 2017 and has since been working in fewer movies. However, she ventured into a new avenue in her career with the recently released web-series The Family Man and has since gotten back into the spotlight, big time.

Post the launch of this web-series, Priyamani has been interacting with the media and in one such interaction, shared her views on pay disparity in the industry, for men and women. She also had some words on leading actresses like Nayanthara, Anushka and Samantha. Priyamani revealed that it was disappointing when despite their last projects becoming successes, the pay scale of the heroines did not change much while it helped boost the pay scale of the heroes. However, she quickly acknowledged that she looked up to some actresses like Nayanthara, Anushka Shetty and Samantha for speaking up and asking what they are worth.

Priyamani also hopes that her venturing into the digital platforms would make it the second coming in her career. She currently has three movies in different stages of production - 2 in Telugu and 1 in Kannada. The highly talented actress also revealed that she likes playing raw characters with good scope for exploring her skills!
