There is a very strong belief that actors cannot be friends, more so female actors. Earlier, tinsel town has seen cat-fights and also some cold wars between top actresses. However, that trend is en passe and contemporary actors and actresses share a lot of camaraderie. Keerthy Suresh was announced as the winner of the National Award for Best Actress for her outstanding performance in the epic movie Mahanati, which was based on the life of yesteryear legendary actress Savithri. This movie turned out to become a blockbuster hit and Keerthy's unmatched portrayal of Savithri fetched her rave reviews and garnered her numerous awards.

Yesterday, the recipients of the 66th National Awards were bestowed with their awards and felicitated by the Vice President of India - Mr. Venkaiah Naidu. This awards ceremony happened at the Vigyan Bhawan, at New Delhi. Photos of this event have been going viral on the internet and congratulations are pouring in for Keerthy from all quarters. To add to this, the talented Anushka Shetty posted a warm congratulatory message on her Facebook page, for Keerthy. The post wished Keerthy and also added that she deserved the award and thanked her for making us all proud! This bonhomie between two top actresses is very heartening to see.

Recently, it was announced that Keerthy Suresh would be playing a part in Superstar Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 168, alongside veterans like Khushbu and Meena. She also has a number of other projects in hand, including Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, Maidaan, Penguin, Miss India and a couple of other projects. Anushka Shetty is meanwhile busy with her upcoming multi-lingual movie Nishabdham, which will see her pairing up with Madhavan. Anushka has numberous awards to her credit but is still to be decorated with a National Award, which we are sure will come her way soon!
