Aravindha Sametha Movie Review

Aravindha Sametha is a Telugu action film produced by S. Radha Krishna and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The film stars Jr. NTR, Pooja Hegde and Jagapathi Babu in the lead roles.

Opens with a violent gang-war sequence where Jagapathi Babu is beaten up by Jr. NTR. The hero tries to bring peace to his native place that is highly messed up. The conflicts he faces and the steps he takes to achieve his intention forms the crux of the story.

The story is thin and a much seen one too. The situations are dull and most of them are easy to predict, hence the intensity is on the ground level throughout the movie. The fan moments are just through punch dialogues and over-the-top action, the smart packaging and powerful cat-and-mouse game is missing. Though there is a justification later on in the storyline for the extremely violent long gang-war scene in the opening, the ‘UA’ certification seems to be inappropriate. The song placements are random and appear as big speed-breakers to the progression. The 165 minutes runtime is a huge negative as the proceedings give a dragging feel without any stunning mass moments.

Director Trivikram 's main theme to bring peace is appreciable, but the message has been conveyed in a half-baked manner. The main conflict of the story is weak and revealing it too early reduces the curiosity factor. The screenplay is absolutely slow with very minimal high points as the scenes lack excitement due to a straight-forward narration. The presentation is decent but nothing falls on the place due to the shortage of good impressions. The dialogues are in the not-bad range, but they lack to pack a punch. Even the climax falls flat without giving goosebumps.

Jr. NTR as Raghava attracts with his powerful screen presence, his dance movements in the songs are super energetic. Pooja Hegde as Aravindha holds a solid role and she has neatly utilized the given space, her expressions are cute in the love scenes. Jagapathi Babu as Pasi Reddy leaves out a heavy performance, but unfortunately, his characterization is not as strong as his acting. Popular ladies like Devayani and Easwari Rao have no importance in the flow, they hardly appear in two or three frames.

Thaman has given some convincing songs with foot-tapping tunes, the fast-paced pre-climax number is a treat for the fans. His background music nicely conveys the context of the situations. Camera work is apt for this commercial flick, the slow-motion shots in the fight scenes elevate heroism. Editing is quite unimpressive and the cuts are not slick and there are plenty of portions that could have been trimmed. Stunt choreographers Ram and Lakshman have made the action sequences look interesting by showcasing them in a clear-cut manner.
