After recording over 1000 fresh COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus cases for over 18 days, Tamil Nadu saw some minor respite yesterday (June 16th). However, the state still ranks second in India, on the list of most affected states. Now, it has come to light that a staff member of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy has lost his life to the deadly virus! 56-year-old Damodharan, a Senior Private Secretary, had been hospitalised for over a week now after having tested positive for the Corona Virus.
Damodharan had first been aadmitted to the Government Multi-Super-Speciality Hospital at Omandurar Estate and later shifted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH). Reports also stated that he was later shifted to a private hospital before being brought back to RGGGH, where he unfortunately breathed his last on Tuesday (16/06/2020), night! Damodharan's family reside at the Government quarters at Saidapet. The latest guidelines for the next lockdown in Chennai from June 19th, mention that all Government offices in the district would only function with 33% employees and those from Containment Zones need not come to office. We express our condolences to Damodharan's family and pray for his soul to rest in peace!
