It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The numbers have been remaining steadily high over the past couple of days! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 5995 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 367,430! Of these, 1282 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 122,757! Kancheepuram has recorded 220 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 15031, while 2418 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 22737 total cases of which 2628 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 21756 cases with 3923 of them being currently active. Chengalpattu alone has recorded 430 new cases in the last 24 hours, while Coimbatore registered 395 new cases and Thiruvallur has recorded 369 new cases!

There have been 101 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 6340. The number of deaths per day has now finally come down below 110 after over ten days of being higher than it! As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 122,757 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 53,413 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 12,708! There have been 5764 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 307,677. There have been 74,344 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 4,062,943 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country!
