Director Siva has come out with yet another 'Mass Entertainer' for Thala Ajith. Ajith is in his elements as a brawny villager with a heart of gold. Nayanthara seems to be getting all the more beautiful, movie after movie. Thambi Ramaiah and Robo Shankar travel alongside Ajith throughout the movie. However, the ensemble cast of Vivekh, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, OAK Sundar, Ramesh Thilak and many others have very little to do. The first half sets up the story to move forward but the buildup falls flat. Jagapathi Babu has a very interesting role and eases through it.
Loaded with emotion and action, the director has gone full out to generate mass appeal. However, there are a lot of scenes which remind the viewer of Ajith & director Siva's Veeram. D. Imman's first composition for the Ajith-Siva combo is peppy and folksy as always, but one feels that there are a few songs too many. Cinematography is good especially in the songs and aerial shots of the stunt sequences. There are a lot of elements that would definitely appeal to the B & C centres. The director has ensured that Thala Ajith's Mass shows in every scene of his. Watching Viswasam in theatres would surely be an amazing experience for the festive ambiance!
