Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Vikram Vedha directed by Pushkar Gayathri and produced by Ynot Studios was a blockbuster hit at the box office that also happened to earn critical acclaim. The film was officially announced to be remade in Hindi with the same directors' duo, Pushkar - Gayathri at the helm. This Hindi remake will be produced by Y Not Studios in association with Reliance Entertainment. The lead actors for the remake is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, there were a few reports doing the rounds that the film is all set to be remade in Telugu with Nandamuri Balakrishna and Rajasekhar reprising the lead characters. When the rumours started to spread widely, the team of Y Not Studios decided to clear the air by stating that they haven't sold the Telugu remake rights to anyone. The statement that has come from Y Not Studios state, "Y NOT Studios officially announces that all news related to Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna and Dr Rajasekhar playing the lead in the Telugu remake of our 2017 blockbuster Tamil film Vikram Vedha, being circulated on mainstream print and online media are absolutely false and are classified as baseless rumours.

Additionally, we state that the remakie rights of Vikram Vedha remains vested with us, and we kindly request the film and the press & media fraternity to ignore such unauthentic news, until we make an official announcement. Thank you." It looks like the remake of Vikram Vedha is on cards only for the Hindi version.
