Actor Udhayanidhi Stalin has filed a case against the Tamil Nadu Tax Exemption Committee for denying tax exemption for his just-released Gethu. Generally, titles with Tamil names are given tax exemption but Gethu was denied citing that it is not a Tamil title. The actor also posted a page from a Tamil dictionary that shows the meaning of Gethu as Thanthiram.

However, its looks like the actor expected the denial in advance. Ask him why? "Do I still have to tell why my films have been denied tax exemptions? In the committee report, it was mentioned that the film is good, shows no violence, but has not got a Tamil title — which was also the reason cited for it not being eligible for tax exemption," he was quoted saying. He also revealed that he will not give up and will continue to fight.
