The fight between fans and reviewers continue on one side while Vivegam’s momentum is slowly waning off in most cities in Tamil Nadu. The movie was supposed to be a super hit and it did make revenue over Rs. 100 crores in just 4 days.

But, distributors have spent lakhs in each area and in order to make a profit the movie should earn more than Rs. 120 crores or higher rather than being a break even.

Going by the trend, the movie may lead to loss in most areas as bookings have considerably slowed down this week. The situation has affected Mersal as distributors don’t want to invest too much again and witness losses. Producers of Mersal have decided to release the film directly in most areas and believe it should help make money. The movie’s budget is higher than Vivegam if sources are to be believed.
