With preparations already underway in Tamil Nadu for a massive release for ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s Kaala, which will be hitting screens worldwide on June 7, the film has now run into a bit of trouble in our neighboring state, Karnataka.

Reports have been rife stating the Karnataka Film Chamber had announced they would block the release of Kaala directed by Pa. Ranjith under Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films banner featuring music by Santhosh Narayanan.

Apparently, the reason behind such an action is said to be Rajinikanth speaking in favor of Tamil Nadu regarding the Cauvery water crisis and tension among the people in the state could erupt if the film releases.

Furthermore, the Karnataka Film Chamber President S. R. Govind in a statement asserted Kaala wouldn’t be allowed for release even if Rajinikanth issued an apology.

Having said that, Tamil Film Producers Council President and Nadigar Sangam General Secretary Vishal took to Twitter to lash out on the decision being implemented by the Karnataka Film Chamber.

It now remains to be seen if this issue comes to an end soon so as to ensure a proper release for one of the most anticipated films in recent times.
