After grabbing the prestigious National Awards, Vetrimaaran's hard-hitting social drama Visaaranai has been selected as India's official entry to Oscars this year. Now, there is another feather added to the cap. The film will have a special screening for the members of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) between November 17th and 28th.
The movie, inspired by a novel 'Lock up', is a brutal one about the experiences of four innocent friends who are arrested by the cops and tortured for 13 days. Their painful experiences in a helpless state form the core content of this movie which is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Visaaranai is bankrolled by Dhanush under his home banner Wunderbar Films.
