Vilai: Movie on the flesh trade

It is certainly a season for realistic drama – touching tales told with a dose of slapstick comedy. Joining that genre of cinema is G. Kamraj’s Vilai. The movie has eight central characters and deals with the rather serious and sensitive subject of human trafficking. The director vouches that his movie will break all conventions and carry no element that serves a mere commercial value. He is determined to tell a story that will leave a lasting impact on the audience. “Nothing about Vilai fits the usual trend of commercial cinema.
