Director Mani Ratnam, who had a successful outing through his last film, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, is now busy with the pre-production works of his next, that is based out of the historical Tamil novel, Ponniyin Selvan. On the production front, his banner, Madras Talkies will be bankrolling an untitled project that is to be helmed by director Dhanasekar of 'Padaiveeran' fame.

Dhanasekar is an erstwhile associate of Mani Ratnam. '96' sensation Govind Vasantha was announced as the music director of this film. G.V.Prakash was revealed to play the lead hero with Aishwarya Rajesh playing an important role, that of Prakash's sister. Earlier last night there were a few reports that G.V.Prakash is replaced by Vikram Prabhu and added that the Kumki star will play the lead.

We decided to check with our sources and when we did, it was clarified that this film is a dual hero subject. Vikram Prabhu has not replaced GV but has been added as another lead. The cast of the film now includes G.V.Prakash, Vikram Prabhu and Aishwarya Rajesh. Since Aishwarya is said to play G.V.'s sister, she might play Vikram's love interest.

Except for Govind Vasantha, the rest of the technical crew for this film is yet to be announced. Looks like Madras Talkies is planning an exciting project on the cards.
