Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has signed multiple projects this year, each at different phases of production. Earlier it was announced that he was joining the cast of Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Marconi Mathai starring Jayaram and Athmiya. He will be debuting in both the industries through the aforementioned movies. Vijay Sethupathi has signed another film, Uppena to play an important role in the debutante Pancha Vaisshnav Dev's (Chiranjeevi's nephew) movie that features Keerthy Shetty as the female lead. The recent buzz is that he's been signed to play actor Keerthy Shetty's father in the movie.
It has also been announced that Vijay Sethupathi will be seen playing antagonist in this romantic flick, where Pancha Vaisshnav Dev will be playing a fisherman. Music for the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Produced by Mythiri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Buchi Babu Sana, a former associate of Sukumar.
Mythiri Movie Makers hae earlier produced Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, Rangasthalam, Savyasachi, Amar Akbar Anthoy, Chitralahari. Apart from Uppena, their upcoming projects are Gang Leader, Allu Arjun's 20th and Ram Charan's 14th film.
