Actor Vijay Sethupathi is undoubtedly one of the most talked about stars in the Tamil film industry. With nearly 8 films in his kitty, the 'Makkal Selvan' has a busy schedule yet again in 2018 as he has been for the past few years now.

The year for the talented star started off with his Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren releasing a couple of weeks back.

He will next be seen in Junga this summer produced under his own Vijay Sethupathi Productions.

Last week also saw the announcement of Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which has him pitted against A-listers like Simbu, Jyothika, Aravind Swami, Arun Vijay, Aditi Rao Hydari and Aishwarya Rajesh.

Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe, which has him playing a transgender with Samantha Akkineni as the female lead is reportedly being planned for a screening at the Cannes Film Festival.

Seethakaathi sees him as a veteran drama artiste and is being prepared for a late summer release.

His 96 with Trisha is also under development and filming is expected to come to a close soon.

He also has a short cameo in the upcoming action thriller, Imaikkaa Nodigal

Fans also expect the long-pending Idam Porul Yaeval to see the light of the day.

In the midst of this, there have been reports doing the rounds that Vijay Sethupathi had walked out of the upcoming Telugu biggie, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. It must be noted the first schedule of filming on Chiranjeevi's upcoming multi-starrer wrapped up not long back with the second schedule set to begin sometime later this month.

Meanwhile, it has now been confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi has not opted out of the mammoth period film and has been hard at work mastering his Telugu speaking skills.

This is the second time a rumor around such a prominent star as Vijay Sethupathi leaving Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has cropped up after 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara was said to be quitting the film last month, which the makers later went on to dispel as a baseless rumor.

As for his role in the film, Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the role of Obayya, the deputy of Chiranjeevi, who plays Kurnool-based freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.

Being directed by Surender Reddy with a budget of Rs. 150 crore under Ram Charan’s Konidela Production Company, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kichcha Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu and Prakash Raj in important supporting roles.
