A film announcement not many were expecting came about earlier this year when it was revealed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj would be directing his next with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth in the lead role under a mammoth production spearheaded by Sun Pictures.
Thalaivar 165 will also have to its credit music by the sensational young composer Anirudh Ravichander making it the first occasion he will be scoring for a Rajinikanth film.
In the midst of all this, actor Vijay Sethupathi recently spoke about the process involved in him landing the role saying he has not yet read the film’s script.
The acclaimed star primarily agreed to being part of Thalaivar 165 due to his blind faith in Karthik Subbaraj with whom he had previously worked in Pizza, Iraivi and a cameo appearance in Jigarthanda.
As for his association in a Rajinikanth film, Vijay Sethupathi stated this is an opportunity for him to observe the 'Superstar' at close proximity for the huge effort he puts in each of his films.
No doubt we can expect fiery scenes between the two when the film comes out reportedly sometime towards the second half of 2019.
