Last year saw a gigantic casting announcement in the form of Jyothika, Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Arvind Swami and Aishwarya Rajesh for Mani Ratnam’s next featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman.

Although no details have been revealed up until now, rumors started doing the rounds that Vijay Sethupathi’s role in the untitled film would be short to the extent of a special cameo.

Now, the man himself, Vijay Sethupathi recently revealed that the reports are completely baseless and that his role in the ace filmmaker’s film is a full-fledged one.

This will serve as a reassurance for the fans of 'Makkal Selvan', who will next see him in films like Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, Junga, Super Deluxe, 96, Seethakathi, an extended cameo in Imaikkaa Nodigal, the long-delayed Idam Porul Yaeval and a role in Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in Telugu.
