We had last month reported the Tamil film, Merku Thodarchi Malai, produced by 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi had been invited to the Toulouse Indian Film Festival in France.


Produced under the Vijay Sethupathi Productions banner, Merku Thodarchi Malai was announced to be competing for the Jury Award and the Audience Award on April 13 at the TIFF 2018.


Merku Thodarchi Malai directed by Lenin Bharathi features Antony and Gayathri Krishna in lead roles with 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja scoring the music.


Competing for two awards at the TIFF 2018, it has now been announced that the film has indeed won the Audience Award and the Jury Award at the Toulouse Indian Film Festival.


Merku Thodarchi Malai narrates the story of landless labor class people living on the borders of Kerala and Tamil Nadu and, has earned yet another big distinction after reaping laurels in film festivals in New York, Chicago, Singapore to name a few.


As for the film’s theatrical release, we can expect it to come out in the coming months.
