Similar to Thalapthy Vijay's Mersal, his latest venture Sarkar which hit the screens last Tuesday has been facing roadblocks from politicians. AIADMK Minister Kadambur Raju and CV Shanmugan has come out against Sarkar and demanded to remove a scene from the movie where people threw away and burn household items that were given of zero cost to people by the government.

According to reports, following the politicians' comments, party cadres have been protesting outside theaters screening Vijay's Sarkar. AIADMK cadres protested outside Shanthi theater in Coimbatore and had teared up the banners and posters. Reports also suggest that some shows have also been canceled in Madurai and also in other districts. Police have given security to theaters screening Sarkar in Trichy. The controversy surrounding Sarkar seems to be increasing and the team is yet to make any comment on the issue.

On the other side, Sarkar is unstoppable breaking all the box office records and the movie has reached the 100 Cr barries in its second day itself.
