Initially, Jyothika's Kaatrin Mozhi, Sei, Utharavu Maharaja and Chithiram Pesudhadi 2 were the Tamil films slated to release on 16th November. As per TFPC regulation, only four movies can release on one day. Since Chithiram Pesudhadi 2 team is backing-off from the announced date, Vijay Antony’s Thimiru Puduchavan has stepped in for its release on 16th November.

This has made a confusion in the industry as Dhananjayan Govind who is the producer of Kaatrin Mozhi has stated that this decision is unfair as there will not be enough screens for his movie if suddenly Thimiru Puduchavan releases on the same day. This has opened up an argument in Twitter since last night. The makers of Kaatrin Mozhi and Thimiru Puduchavan are waiting for TFPC to take on this problem and resolve it soon.
