A film that went on to achieve cult status in quick time upon its release, Vikram Vedha, directed by the Pushkar-Gayatri duo released in 2017 went on to become a critically acclaimed and commercial blockbuster.

Starring ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi, Madhavan, Shraddha Srinath, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Kathir in the lead roles, Vikram Vedha produced by Y Not Studios featured chartbuster music by Sam C. S.

Ever since Vikram Vedha went on to become a smash success, there were talks of the film getting remade with Y Not Studios last year announcing that a Hindi remake in collaboration with the Reliance Entertainment, Plan C Studios and Friday Filmworks banners was in development with Pushkar-Gayatri returning to helm the project.

Meanwhile, reports started doing the rounds over the past week that a Vikram Vedha Telugu remake is being planned and with superstar Venkatesh Daggubati set to portray one of the lead roles.

That said, the makers of Venkatesh’s upcoming film, Suresh Productions took to their Twitter page to officially issue a clarification stating the Telugu superstar is at present busy filming for their Venky Mama with an announcement on his next films to be made soon.

It must be noted that rumors of a Vikram Vedha Telugu remake with Nandamuri Balakrishna and Dr. Rajasekhar in the lead roles sprung up a couple of months after which Y Not Studios issued an official statement saying they have not sold the rights for the film’s Telugu version as yet.
