A raging topic across Tamil Nadu over the past few days has been the protest taking place in Tuticorin against the Sterlite factory and the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board. Celebrities from the Tamil film industry have been voicing out their opinions on these pressing issues in support of the people and actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, who not long back announced their political entry too have expressed their views on these crucial problems.

That being said, Kannada fringe groups in Karnataka few days back threatened to ban both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s films in the state for their statements in support of the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board.

Actor Rajinikanth too was asked earlier this week on his opinion on his films facing a ban for which he had responded by saying if such an occurrence indeed prevailed, it would be addressed by the film’s producers as well as the Karnataka state government.

Meanwhile, Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj during an interaction with the press issued a statement saying Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s films will not be released in Karnataka.

It now remains to be seen how Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan respond to this latest development.
