We have already reported that the pooja of Vijay Sethupathi's Dharma Durai, directed by Seenu Ramasamy and produced by Studio 9, held in Chennai today. However, this has not gone well with Vasantha Kumaran director Anand Kumaresan, whose film has been in cold storage for a long time due to a spat between the film's hero Vijay Sethupathi and producer Studio 9. It may be recalled that last year Studio 9 posted a message saying that they are quitting film and all their ongoing projects will remain shelved. The makers also blamed Vijay Sethupathi for the decision as he failed to allocate dates for their projects. "Vasantha Kumaran was dropped due to a problem between the hero and producer. And now, the launch of Dharma Durai by the same team has taken place," the director posted on his Facebook page.

He also added, "I waited for three years and didn't know what to do next. My twelve-year-old career is in question now. I have tried to communicate with the makers several times but in vain." The debutant director also questioned why he was never given a proper explanation of the situation.
