With the announcement that the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) strike being called off yesterday, celebrities and fans alike have been expressing their relief.

As known already, no Tamil film had been released since March 1 and it was during this 48 days period that several hit films had gotten a re-release across the state among which Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Oru Kal Oru Kannadi too had been given a screening at a popular theatre in Chennai.

That being said, Udhayanidhi Stalin had taken to his Twitter page to express his opinion on why can't film releases in Tamil Nadu be put on hold following the IPL matches until the Cauvery Management Board is set up, which will only attract attention of the non-functioning Central and State governments.

Although many have complimented Udhayanidhi for his statement, a section of fans online have questioned whether the actor will pose the same query to Kalanithi Maran, a close relative and also the owner of the IPL franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
