Susi Ganeshan debuted in Tamil cinema through the state award winning movie, Five Star, after being an assistant director to Mani Ratnam, while filming Bombay (1995), Iruvar (1997) and Dil Se.. (1998). Following that, he had written and directed Virumbugiren and Thiruttu Payale which also received Tamil Nadu State film awards. His last projects in Tamil were Kanthswamy in 2009, followed by Thiruttu Payale 2 in 2017. It is to be noted that Sasi had remade Thiruttu Payale in Hindi, titling Shortcut Romeo. A source close to us has confirmed that Thiruttu Payale 2 is to be remade by himself in Hindi.
Thiruttu Payale's spiritual sequel, Thiruttu Payale 2 is a erotic suspense thriller featuring Bobby Simha, Prasanna and Amala Paul in the lead roles. Bankrolled by AGS Entertainment, the movie had its tunes composed by music director Vidyasagar and the satellite rights of the movie was sold to Zee Tamil.Actor Prasanna even won the award for the Best Supporting Actor for Filmfare Awards South.
