Mohan Raja’s Thani Oruvan starring Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara and Arvind Swami released in 2015 went on to become a memorable film for the director apart from getting the status of one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Tamil cinema. With a sequel announced not long back, the inspiration for the film has now been revealed.
The Velaikkaran director took to his Twitter page to reveal that his friend and Indian Foreign Executive, B. S. Mubarak, the Indian Ambassador designate to Guatemala is his biggest inspiration for the film.

As of now, no details on Thani Oruvan 2’s cast and crew are available with an official announcement expected to be made in the days ahead as it remains to be seen whether Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara will reprise their roles.
