Thalapathy Vijay’s social drama Kaththi (2014) directed by A.R.Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions dealt with water scarcity issue, it became a blockbuster.


Before Kaththi, the actor-director duo worked together in 2012 action thriller Thuppakki, which was unanimously accepted by everyone.


They are currently working on their next movie Sarkar, a political thriller which is scheduled to release for this year’s Diwali. This big budget film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures Kalanithi Maran.


The movie was highly appreciated for conveying an important message. It was remade in Telugu in the name ‘Khaidi No.150’, Chiranjeevi played the male lead role.


Latest news from Bollywood is that the Hindi remake rights of Kaththi are bagged by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a producer cum director who is popularly known for his work in Ram-Leela and Padmaavat.


The information on lead actor names is coming out as Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, etc. But nothing is official as of now, so let us be patient to know more on the same.
