Akin to the trendy, quirky and fun-filled titles of the superstar’s collaboration with director Atlee - Theri and Mersal - Bigil has satisfied fans and followers of the actor everywhere. Prior to the title reveal, the hashtag #HBDEminentVijay had been trending in the worldwide trends on Twitter and went on to grab the number one position, which it successfully managed to hold on to for a span of nearly 4 hours. As of now, the said tag stands in the sixth position with over 1.42 million tweets. This is perhaps the first time a south Indian actor has gone on to reach the position and is indeed a unique distinction for a Tamil star. Likewise, the hashtag #BIGIL has been tweeted over 847,000 times and currently holds the fourth spot in the worldwide trends further establishing the tag has attained a double thumbs up.

Bigil will see Vijay in dual roles for the sixth time in his glorious career and on this occasion as father and son with both characters in this sports action drama set to share screen space in a single frame for a major duration of the narrative. Based on what has been revealed in the first look poster, we know now that the father character will be playing an influential figure residing at North Chennai and the son character appearing as a football player representing the Tamil Nadu Football Association.
