Actor Kathir left a mark in his debut film, Madha Yaanai Koottam, and followed it up with commendable performances in Kirumi and in a vital supporting role in the blockbuster Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan starrer, Vikram Vedha. Having said that, his breakout role was in last year’s smash hit, Pariyerum Perumal, which showed him as a rebellious law student with the film going to be declared to be one of the best to be made in Tamil cinema’s history. Since then, Kathir has been quite busy with his upcoming projects that include the biggie Thalapathy 63 with Vijay and Nayanthara, the sports drama, Jada, which has him playing the role of an aspiring football player and the comedy entertainer, Sarbath, with Soori. With filming on Thalapathy 63 and Jada underway, the Sarbath first look has now been unveiled and is set to be an out-and-out entertainer.
Produced jointly by Lalit Kumar’s Seven Screen Studio and Viacom 18 Studios, Sarbath starring Kathir and Soori has been directed by Prabhakaran with Ajesh Ashok scoring the music, T. Prabhakaran handling the cinematography and G. K. Prasanna taking care of the editing. Sarbath is being billed as a rural entertainer and will be a lively and colorful film that will cater to all audiences; especially in the B and C centers across Tamil Nadu.
Kathir impressed all with his thunderous performance in Pariyerum Perumal with the film remaining etched in fans’ memories for addressing the age-old social stigma - caste. Having excelled in the role with an intense performance, the actor will next be seen in Jada and Vijay’s Thalapathy 63 as they demand peak physical contribution.
