We had reported a while back the opening song in Vijay’s upcoming film tentatively being called Thalapathy 62 would be a kuthu number.

Production on the film resumed last week after the TFPC strike with Vijay and director A. R. Murugadoss shooting important sequences in and around prominent locations across Chennai for three consecutive nights along with countless junior artists.

Meanwhile, reports are now doing the rounds now stating Vijay’s intro song in Thalapathy 62 has been sung by singer Diwakar.

Diwakar has made a name for himself in the Tamil film industry after singing hits like "Nenjukkula Nee" from Vadacurry and also the "Tango Kelaayo" track from Kaatru Veliyidai, which marked his first time association with A. R. Rahman.

Although an official confirmation on Diwakar’s involvement in Vijay 62 is now awaited, we can expect his efforts to be nothing short of top-notch once again in A. R. Rahman's music.

Slated for a Diwali release, Thalapathy 62 will feature actress Keerthy Suresh as the female lead with Sun Pictures producing the film on a colossal scale.

Vijay 62 will also include actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in a crucial role alongside veteran actor Radha Ravi as the antagonist and, Yogi Babu and Livingston in vital supporting roles.
