Official announcement on Rajinikanth's next big film after Petta
A massive project in its early stages of development is the upcoming collaboration between ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth and hit director A. R. Murugadoss with production reportedly being done by Lyca Productions.
Despite the project, which was up until now being called Thalaivar 166, is now said to be tentatively titled Thalaivar 167 as per Rajinikanth’s official PRO. A complete clarification on the film's title can be expected to be made in the days ahead when production kicks off soon.
The in-development film, which includes Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music with acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan for the camera shots, Santhanam for the art direction and Niharikha Bhasin Khan for the costume designs, is set to begin rolling from April 10 with plans for a Pongal 2020 release.
Meanwhile, a picture of director A. R. Murugadoss seeking the blessings of the Almighty at the Palani temple ahead of the commencement of his film with ‘Thalaivar’ Rajinikanth has now officially been released.
It must be noted that Rajinikanth is the only star to be cast in the film with reports stating actress Nayanthara is the prime contender for the role of the female lead, which incidentally would mark her third collaboration with ‘Superstar’ after their Chandramukhi and Kuselan.
