Thalai Ezhuthu based on real person

Richard Raj, the producer of the forthcoming Thalai Ezhuthu, isthe owner of a restaurant in New Zealand, andone of his regular customers there inspired him to make a movie. Raj says that this customers, a physically-challenged person, used to come to the restaurant on a wheelchair that had a monitor with sensors that could read his mind and display his wants on the screen. Raj observed the man carefully, and decided to make a film with a character that resembled that person; thus wasconceived the idea ofThalai Ezhuthu.

"My father Ethiraj, the director, has been associated with the industry right from the days of A.P. Nagarajan. One of the characters in my film is a wheelchair. But it’s no ordinary one. It is something that I have actually seen in my life. One of my clients used to come to my restaurant and order food sitting on a wheelchair similar to this. It had sensors that could read your mind and project what you want to say on the monitor," say Raj, who also acts in the movie alongside Pooja Gandhi. Raj is also playing the villain in Sarathkumar's Jaggubhai.

"Thalai Ezhuthu is based on reality and is very natural, based on his observation for nearly three years. Raj is spending his hard-earned money on this project and we are very excited to be working on it," says Dominic Savio, the cinematographer.
