An important film in ‘Thala’ Ajith’s illustrious career, Vedalam, released in 2015 went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters and remains memorable for the actor’s fans everywhere. There are several moments in the gangster action film, which fans continue to recollect even today among which is the mass transformation scene in which Ajith scores with his performance. Now, Vedalam is all set to be remade in Hindi and this time with Bollywood superstar John Abraham in the lead role and Bhushan Kumar serving as the producer with the director and rest of the cast and crew details expected to be announced soon.

The Vedalam remake for John Abraham comes after he had starred in the remake of Kaakha Kaakha, which was titled Force, and was released in 2011. Vedalam also starring Shruti Haasan, Lakshmi Menon and Kabir Duhan Singh was directed by Siva under A. M. Rathnam's Sri Satya Sai Movies banner with Anirudh Ravichander as the composer and the “Aaluma Doluma” song going on to become a chartbuster.

Vedalam is the second Ajith film in less than a week after it was revealed recently that his blockbuster Veeram is also getting remade in Hindi with rising Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal in the lead role under the title, Land of Lungi. To be directed by Farhad Samjhi, the makers of the Veeram Hindi remake initially had plans to rope Akshay Kumar, which the actor reportedly backed out of later on.
