‘Thala’ Ajith fans are an ecstatic lot with Viswasam announced for a Pongal 2019 release followed by the much talked about Thala 59 also getting greenlit under late actress Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor’s production.
Speculated to kick-off production from next month, Ajith’s Thala 59 reportedly under H. Vinoth’s direction, the expectations and excitement for the film is already sky-high. An official remake of the smash 2016 hit Bollywood film, Pink, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles, it went on to become a stellar hit both critically and commercially.
Meanwhile, acclaimed popular director Shoojit Sircar, who served as the writer as well as creative producer on Pink has now confirmed that the Tamil remake has been given a green signal while also stating he will not be directing it. He added that the film will be shown to him once completed and that the team want the Tamil version to be its own interpretation. As of now, an official statement from the Thala 59 team is awaited, which we expect to be made in the day ahead.
