Thaandavam, from UTV Motion Pictures, starring Vikram, Anushka, Jagapathi Babu, Amy Jackson, Nasser and Santhanam, has Vikram playing a 2-dimensional character, one of them being that of a visually challenged person! As part of its social initiative, the makers of Thaandavam, in association with the National Association for the Blind (NAB), held a premiere show, yesterday! The sale of donor passes helped raise Rs. 20 Lakhs. The premiere was held at Sathyam Cinemas, and the show was sold out, in record time. This movie, directed by A.L. Vijay, has music by G.V. Prakash, and also delves into a novel concept called Echo Location!
“We would like to thank UTV for coming forward and associating for a noble cause. We are glad to inform that the entire amount will go towards the benefit of NAB. If more and more Corporates can emulate this and start contributing to social causes through their vast array of films, it will go a long way to expand their activities and support more number of people,” said Ms. A. Nina Reddy, President of NAB for Tamil Nadu.
