As announced earlier by the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), production on all ongoing Tamil films in India have been brought to an indefinite halt. The same will also be implemented for Tamil films currently being shot in foreign locations starting this Friday on March 23.
That being said, producer J. Sathish Kumar of the JSK Film Corporation banner took to his Twitter page to question the TFPC as to why special permission was being allotted to Vijay’s Thalapathy 62 being directed by A. R. Murugadoss.
Actor #Vijay ‘s shooting is happening now at Victoria Hall. Where is our unity? How can our council give spl permission? I strongly oppose this decision. Don’t split up.— J Satish Kumar (@JSKfilmcorp) March 20, 2018
In response, TFPC Secretary S. S. Durairaj has now come out with an official statement where he says special permission has been given to those films that have expensive set erected and are on the verge of the schedule’s completion.
Under such circumstances, Sun Pictures' Vijay 62 team has been given two days special permission to complete the portions in the ongoing schedule since it includes the makers bringing a stunt team from Hyderabad to wrap up key sequences.
Thalapathy 62 will feature Keerthy Suresh as the female lead opposite Vijay after last year’s Bairavaa.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar stars for the first time in a Vijay film and her character is said to be a special surprise for fans.
Vijay 62 is currently being aimed for a Diwali release later this year.
