For the past few days, the Tamil film industry has been involved in a tussle with the Digital Service Providers (DSPs) and that took a new big turn when the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) last week announced that press meets for all films’ promotions should be brought to an immediate halt until further notice from them.
Having said that, the launch of the upcoming Tamil film, NOTA, had taken place last week and this has now led to problems for producer Gnanavel Raja and his production house, Studio Green, which is the banner behind the film.
Being directed by Iru Mugan fame Anand Shankar, NOTA, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual stars Vijay Deverakonda as the film's lead along with Sathyaraj in a vital supporting role and Sam CS for the musical score.
According to reports, TFPC was quite disappointed when Gnanavel Raja held the NOTA film launch thereby violating the decision of the producers council and their protest against digital service providers.
Reports further state the TFPC has issued a red card to Gnanavel Raja for his actions, who in turn is said to have submitted an apology letter. As of now, it is believed the office bearers need to arrive at a decision whether or not to reverse the ban.
This is an ongoing story and we will keep you posted as there are further developments.
