We had earlier reported that the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) had announced a theatre shutdown across the state from March 1 as a mark of protest against digital service providers QUBE and UFO.
Having said that, the TFPC moments back issued a new statement which states the following:
"A conference was held in Hyderabad yesterday (February 7) which saw representatives of the film chambers of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu participate along with Producer Council members across these five state. We met with QUBE and UFO officials to debate on the huge prices they are charging during the time of film releases."
The statement further reads, "At present, we are not pleased with the outcome as we have not been able to arrive at a conclusive decision. We will meet on April 16 to discuss the same once again in the hopes of a final solution. As of now, the strike for March 1 stands as announced earlier."
