It is a given that there is no bigger star in the Tamil film industry than actor Rajinikanth.

With his Kaala under Pa. Ranjith’s direction announced to be coming out first on April 27, excitement shot up instantly for all 'Thalaivar' fans.

Fans of 'Superstar' are also waiting with bated breath on a word from the makers of his upcoming mammoth sci-fi action thriller, 2.0, under Shankar’s direction.

In addition, Rajinikanth not long back also announced he would be journeying into the political arena starting this year with various developments taking place every single day.

Meanwhile, there are reports stating the iconic veteran actor had met acclaimed young director Karthik Subbaraj this week and the two had discussed in private for nearly one hour.

Although details surrounding their discussion is unknown at this point, there are many who believe Rajinikanth could be planning to do one more film and this time with Karthik Subbaraj, whose upcoming silent film, Mercury, was announced earlier this week to hit screens on April 13.

It must be noted Rajinikanth had heaped praises after watching Jigarthanda, which happened to be Karthik Subbaraj’s second feature film and went on to become a blockbuster.

Post the massive success of Jigarthanda back in 2014, Rajinikanth had even expressed his desire to star as Bobby Simha’s character "Assault" Sethu, which went on to land him the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Whether Rajinikanth and Karthik Subbaraj are teaming up for a film next shall be known with the passage of time.
