Towards the end of last year, it was announced that Bollywood actor Sunny Leone would be making her acting debut in the Tamil film industry in a magnum opus film titled Veeramadevi.

To be directed by V C Vadivudayan under Ponse Stephen's Steeve's Corner banner with music by Amresh Ganesh, Veeramadevi will reportedly be shot in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam with Sunny Leone allotting a 150 days call sheet in light of the film’s release being planned for early 2019.


Having said that, production on Veeramadevi kicked off today with a formal pooja, which will mark Sunny Leone’s first full-length role in Tamil cinema after her song appearance in Jai’s Vadacurry in 2014. 

Sunny Leone is said to have undertaken training in martial arts, sword fighting and horse riding for the to prepare for the role with the help of a trainer brought in from Mumbai .


Actor Navdeep will be playing the antagonist while veteran thespian Nassar is to essay a vital supporting role in this film for which huge sets have been erected.
