Directed by Don Sanday, Mahabalipuram features Vinayak, Karunakaran, Ramesh of Soodhu Kavvum fame, Angana and Vithika in the lead roles. The lead hero Vinayak is producing the movie under the Clapboard Movies banner.
Apparently, R.K. Suresh and Nazar Ali of Studio 9 Productions happened to see the master output of Mahablipuram and were very much impressed by it. They stated that the film packs a social message that will impress the audience. The climax of the movie had an impact on them for a couple of days.
