The past week has been nothing less of a shocker for cinema audience, since the multiplex association in TN has announced a strike to protest against the levying of entertainment tax in addition to GST by the TN state government. The MAI (Multiplex Association of India) has announced that it would carry out the strike starting from the 6th of October, and no movie shall be screen until the strike concludes.

Though this is a rare move and is somewhat in line to be favourable to the audience, the one group that is adversely affected by this decision is the film makers and producers. With movies being scheduled to release this weekend, and the strike being called on at the last moment, the release process is getting delayed and with the uncertainity of the concluding date of the protest, there is uncertainity pertaining to the rel;ease dates as well.

Caught in this situation is the crew of Solo, starring Dulquer Salman. The film was set to release today, but due to this unforseen circumstance, there is a slight confusion among the audience with regards to its release. Would the release of the Malayalam version of Solo also be affected because of this issue? However director Bejoy Nambiar came forward to clarify about the release of solo through his twittler handle.

We wish the team on Solo a very good luck, and hope the film does well in the box office too!
