A couple of months back, we had reported that Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve had turned down the offer to direct the next film in the James Bond franchise, tentatively being called, Bond 25.

Ace filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s name too has been in the fray to direct the upcoming Bond film for quite sometime now. It must be noted his action war film, Dunkirk, went on to win 3 Academy Awards this year.

That said, it is now being reported filmmaker Danny Boyle, who went on to land several awards including the Oscar Award for his Slumdog Millionaire is being eyed to take charge of the next Bond film.

Daniel Craig is all set to reprise the role of the iconic British spy with the screenplay developed by John Hodge awaiting an approval from Bond 25 producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

It must be noted a script for Bond 25 was originally penned by James Bond franchise veteran Neal Purvis and Robert Wade as they have been the brains behind every Bond film for the past 18 years starting from The World Is Not Enough to Spectre in 2015.

If MGM and Eon Productions do decide to give Hodge’s script a nod, the script written by Purvis and Wade could be shelved completely.

As of now, Bond 25 is scheduled to hit screens in the US on November 8, 2019. However, those plans could undergo a change if Boyle decides to come on board.
